The author's stated goal of this book is to introduce you to a lifestyle of owning less, without letting you lose sight of the purpose for it. Mainly, finding the freedom to pursue the things that matter most to you.
Richard has some great thoughts about passion, note-taking, listening, leadership, hiring, and delegating. I especially recommend reading if you are looking for advice on these topics.
A friend recommended this book for improving interviewing techniques and for learning how to ask better questions. It is written by former CIA officers, contains good information on detecting deception, what questions to ask, and how to ask them. All of the examples in the book are from real-world situations and are relevant and entertaining.
Life 3.0 is a nice book about technology and artificial intelligence. It contains interesting viewpoints and many thought-provoking questions. If you are interested in technology, AI, machine learning, and the future, I recommend reading or listening to it.
Spiritual Leadership one of the best books I have read. It is powerful, deep, and dense with substance. It contains a multitude of applications for leadership and management. My favorite chapters are 12: The Leader and Time and 13: The Leader and Reading. Chapter 13 contains practical applications on what to read, how to read, and how to get more out of what you read.
The Compound Effect has had a significant impact on me, I have re-read it multiple times. I recommend the audio version which is read by the author, it is motivating and inspiring.
Filled with good questions, advice on listening and tips on saying no. I recommend this book for almost everyone including leaders, managers, parents and employees.
This is my first reading of a Seth Godin book, enjoyed in very much. It has insights on a variety of topics. His thoughts on the decision between better and safer was a significant ah-ha moment for me. Understanding that most people are looking for safer and not better is an important mental model I have incorporated into my thinking.
Well rounded book on prospecting and sales. I like the advice on leveraging text messaging and social media for prospecting. My favorite quote is "When you decide not to read; you are making the conscious choice to limit your growth and income."
