These are my general notes and lessons learned more than a full summary like I normally write. The book is well written and easy to follow, it kept me interested the entire time. If you are interested in learning about Genghis Khan I definitely recommend this book.
The premise of the book according to the author is that "the story of The House of Morgan is the story of modern finance." My favorite quote from the books is "Morgan bank tellers have a million dollar smile, they only smile if you have a million dollars."
Read this book because it relates to my current profession. For me the most interesting parts were the details on the bridge caissons and how they sunk the piers of the bridge.
This book sparked more curiosity in me. It gave me the motivation to write more and think about what legacy I am leaving. As the quote below mentions, 500 years later we are still learning from Leonardo's notes. I like the list of lessons to learn in the conclusion.
